BIOGRAPHY

Not much can be said about Edward's life prior to adulthood. He was bookish and because of his demeanor, he was often the end of a beating in the school yard. His parents pushed academics in the house and they never wanted their son to limit himself. Books were a primary means of escape from the negativities in life and he found himself with an insatiable appetite for knowledge. He also grew fond of brain teasers, puzzles, and riddles. Of course, this didn't help his interaction with the other children and he was also bullied on a regular basis.

In high school, things became a little easier. Edward was capable of fading in to the background to become lost among the rest of his peers. Puberty granted him the gift of height and some muscle so the bullies went for weaker, smaller targets. The only problems he had were with women, who made fun of his lanky appearance. Needless to say, he didn't have much of an ego boost so he stuck to his books. When he wasn't submersed in school work, he was often seen running around with his best friend, Gregory Buchanan.

His first job was at a library. It was the most fascinating job he ever had and it allowed him to read all day. He worked at the local library for quite some time, almost through his entire college career - which was short lived. After high school, Edward applied for several different colleges but with the intent to go to Harvard. His wishes were granted but when the college life got the best of him, Edward was fired from the library for showing up slightly drunk one too many times.

Speaking of Harvard, his major was Financial and Cost Accounting with lots of mathematic and computer courses in between. Edward was, as the classmates put it, "scary good at math". Numbers were his thing and he enjoyed solving equations. After all, they were like a series of puzzles.

Edward was expelled from Harvard his junior year. Not only was he lining his pockets with money from changing students' grades, he was caught hacking in to the school's mainframe. In order to gain access, all they needed to do was answer a simple (but not really) riddle. It was fun to watch Harvard's finest scramble for the answer; but it did get old and Edward turned himself in, showing great disappointment in his scholars.

Needless to say, that ruined him for awhile. Shortly after college, he lived a brief stint on the streets. In order to cope with it all, he spent most of this time drunk. It was his best friend that managed to save Edward from perdition. Greg gave Eddie a job, a sense of direction, and to this day, Ed feels as though he could never truly repay his friend for that time. The only way he knew how to make up for it was serve as the best damn accountant that Greg would probably ever see.

After awhile, dark times fell on Edward - but mostly Greg - once more. The only thing that Edward had to suffer was being jobless but he truly hated seeing his best friend being carted off to jail. He made a promise to him, to act as his fence to the outside world and to help with whatever he could. Luckily, after life decided to rip something from Edward's hands once more, he had a small cushion to fall back on. Instead of spiraling downward in to his former state of depression, Eddie kept his nose clean and chased after other job opportunities to pass the time.

It was during this time he met a certain, Mr. Patrick Milliner who seemed to believe that Edward would be a good fit for his team. It was true. It only made perfect sense that if Mr. Milliner wanted the best around that he would only hire the best accountant to aid him. He loves the entitlements that his job grants him and the money that flows in from it - even if what they're doing is illegal. Edward works around the clock to protect his books and the rest of his new circle of friends.

LINES

TIE-INs
Edward shares a great deal of physical features with The Riddler. They're both 6'1, dark colored hair, and bright blue / green eyes. They also have a love for suits. Genius intellect The Riddler is known for his super intelligence and his power with deductive reasoning. A flare for dramatics. Edward can be slightly, if anything, over the top. They also share an eccentric personality. They each shared a time when they were homeless. Instead of someone from NASA finding him, it was Greg who saved him. The love for puzzles and riddles. They are Edward's favorite things! The harder they are, the better. He's also fond of trivia while most of it is rendered useless.
